Seminar for Roma women

On the November 30, 2021 Roma women and youth participated on the workshop in Črnomelj, Slovenia. Participants (more then 40) came from different parts of Slovenia, Prekmurje, Maribor, Dolenjska, and Bela Krajina; from regions where large number of Roma community is living. Three different workshops were organised where participants shared their experiences in various fields such as employment, education, integration into society, etc. In the final part, the moderators of the tables presented the first findings, which will be analysed in detail in the future and will serve as a starting point for future project activities. Through a video conference, the event was joined by dr. Goran Bašić from the Institute of Social Sciences in Belgrade, who presented the situation with the Roma population in Serbia and presented the conclusions of a survey conducted in Serbia on discrimination against various ethnic groups. Angelca Hudorovac, who has been employed as a Roma assistant for many years, presented herself as an example of good practice in employing ethnic minorities.
