Mr. Fatmir Bečiri is the president of the Roma association “Romano Pralipe”, the vice-president of the Council of the Roma Community of the Republic of Slovenia and the Roma Association of Slovenia. About 3,000 Roma live in Maribor. They started moving from other parts of the former Yugoslavia, especially from Kosovo, 50 years ago. Mr. Bečiri said that the situation was improving and that they were working to further improve the situation of the Roma in Maribor and throughout Slovenia.
